Legal information

Primemeridianstore Privacy Policy

Primemeridianstore keeps the personal information you share when you order LED headlight optics, projector lenses or repair components limited to what we actually need to pick, pack and deliver your parcel. This page explains what we collect, how long it stays in our systems, who else may see it and how you can ask us to correct or delete it. It covers orders placed through the website, phone enquiries and workshop visits at our Newcastle counter.

Who we are and what this policy covers

Primemeridianstore is a small automotive lighting shop working out of Newcastle, NSW. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse the website, place an order, or bring a vehicle in for workshop work, and what we do with it.

If you have a question about anything here, you can reach us at primemeridianstore@gmail.com or by post at 6 Workshop Way, Newcastle NSW 2300. We respond to privacy queries within seven business days.

Information we collect

We keep the collection narrow, mostly to what is needed to sell you parts or work on your car.

  • Contact details you give us: name, email, phone number, delivery or billing address.
  • Order details: what you bought, which vehicle it was for, and any workshop notes.
  • Technical data from the site: IP address, browser type and pages visited, kept in aggregate for traffic analysis.
  • Payment references from our provider, never the full card number.

How we use your information

We use the information to process orders, arrange workshop bookings, answer enquiries, and meet our obligations under Australian consumer law. We also use aggregated site data to see which products and pages are actually being used.

We do not sell your data. We don't pass it to marketing list brokers, and we won't sign you up to a newsletter just because you bought a headlight.

Who we share it with

Only where it is necessary to fulfil your order. That usually means a courier for delivery, our payment provider for the transaction, and our bookkeeper for GST records. Each of those parties is contractually required to keep the data confidential and to use it only for the task we hired them for.

We will disclose information if a court order or a lawful request from a regulator requires it.

Your rights

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request corrections where something is out of date or wrong.
  • Ask us to delete records we no longer need to keep, subject to tax and warranty obligations.
  • Withdraw consent for any optional communication, at any time.

To do any of these, email us with the request and enough detail for us to find your record. We don't charge a fee for reasonable requests.

How long we keep it and how we protect it

Order and invoice records stay on file for seven years to meet Australian tax requirements. Enquiry emails are deleted after two years. Data is stored on Australian-hosted servers with access limited to staff who need it to do their job, and passwords plus two-factor authentication are used on all admin accounts.

No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you and the OAIC as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when our practices change, and the latest version always sits at primemeridianstore.com/privacy-policy. The last review was in the current calendar year.
